Sala Umberto Theater

The Sala Umberto Theater, located in the heart of Rome, a few steps from Spanish Steps, was designed by Arch. Andrea Busiri Vici with decorations by the renowned set designer Alessandro Bazzani, inaugurated in 1882 as a concert hall with the name of Teatro della Piccola Borsa.

In the early twentieth century, after major expansion works, it was called “Sala Umberto”, a name it still retains today, in honor of the then King of Italy and in those years it stood out as a Temple of Variety and of the Italian Rivista, in where important shows are staged with the most famous actors of the time.
